After five years of development,
Big Bear Bikes presents the "Burro". As it's namesake, it
is a sturdy, simple bike that is very sure footed at low speeds. its
key design elements are the 44mm wide rims and the 3" low pressure
tires. The steering geometry is steep for quick handling at lower speeds.
It has a low center of gravity for stability. Tire pressure off road
is best between 10 and 25 pounds depending on terrain and rider weight.
With the huge soft tire footprint, the Burro goes where other bikes
flounder.
It is designed for the explorer.
A "hiker" not a "runner". Gearing is very low for
steep climbs and a more relaxed pace.
The frame is 6061 aluminum
alloy. Paint is tough and environmentally friendly power coat.
Components are basic mountain
bike parts that are easy to service and replace at any bike shop. No
suspension to break or wear out and no special hard to find parts. A
simple, durable fun bike that will always be ready to ride.
